My name is Jordan Rothman, and I am an attorney in the New York City area. I am also a student debt slayer, having paid off all $197,890.20 of my college and law school student loans before the age of 30.
Just a few years ago, I was drowning in over six figures of student loans. The interest on my debt accrued at a rate of $31 a day, and the minimum payment on my loans was around $2,100 a month. My student debt seemed like an insurmountable burden that I would never overcome.
However, with saving, side-hustles, and sacrifice, I was able to pay off all $197,890.20 of my student loans in only 46 months. Even though I expected to pay off my student loans for the rest of my life, I ended up being debt-free in less time than it took to earn my degrees. While paying off my student loans, I learned a number of strategies to increase my income and decrease spending so that I could devote more money to paying down my debt.
This website recounts my personal journey paying off my student loans and discusses some of the strategies I employed while paying off this debt. The website also includes guest articles containing opinions and information on the topic of student loans. The goal of this website is to be a supportive force to all those trying to pay off their student debt.
In addition to publishing posts on this website, I also write articles as a weekly columnist for Above the Law, a popular legal news website.
